HERE’S HOW WE BEGAN…
Makers Art Collective will be opening November 2018. It began out of a love for art and teaching the next generation as well as adults. Many times art is seen as a hobby, we see it as a craft. Both art and design take practice, resources, and opportunities to learn and experiment. We hope that this studio becomes a creative community that embraces art and allows artists to come and experience new forms of art that transforms their making. Makers Art Collective is specifically designed for teens and adults. We hope you find this studio as a place where you can make incredible art, try new mediums, gain confidence, and create a new community!
WHO ARE WE?
We are a mother-daughter team who love art and want to see it in people’s lives!
Lisa is the business brain behind the inner workings of Makers Art Collective. If you call us or send us an email, you will more than likely be talking to her! When she’s not running the show, you can find her assisting in classes, participating in Open Stitch, or crocheting her latest creation!
Colleen is a teacher here at Makers Art Collective. She is your girl for all fiber, fashion, and art needs! She graduated from SCAD with a degree in Fibers and is currently pursuing her Masters at Lesley University to teach Art Education to 5th-12th grade! She is passionate about helping teens and adults learn a new skill, experiment with out of the box thinking, or explore a different part of their creativity!
We believe in giving teens and adults space to pursue any artistic dream they may have, whether its to strengthen their professional craft or an opportunity to learn something new and make some new friends.
Both of us are here to help you in anyway we can! Here is a cute picture of us circa 1997! Can’t wait to meet you!
